GCCA presents ensemble 132 @ St. James Lutheran Church
Apr 8 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Gettysburg Community Concert Association (GCCA) concludes its 2024–25 season with a performance by ensemble 132 at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. In 2025, ensemble 132, an American collective of soloists and chamber musicians of the highest caliber, is celebrating the 150th birthdays of Maurice Ravel and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, both of whom played pivotal roles in the early 20th century as they blended styles from all over the world, with a special fascination with jazz. Violinists Abi Fayette and Claire Bourg, violist Luther Warren, and cellist Chase Park will explore those composers’ influence on recent styles and genres from Da Falla to Miles Davis to Sariaaho — while looking backward as far as the medieval age. “La Belle Époque,” a genre-bending project honoring the expansive legacy of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, will be featured. The string quartet will also present a student outreach program in an Adams-Hanover area school.

The concert will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Admission is $20 at the door, but free for GCCA members, college students with an ID, and anyone under 19 (under 13 with an adult). Limited free parking is available at St. James, with additional free parking at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church’s parking lot off High Street.

Annual membership subscriptions for the 2025–26 season will be increasing to $60, but attendees at the April 8 concert can take advantage of a $50 early bird rate that is available until summer.
Membership includes free admission to GCCA concerts in Gettysburg as well as additional shows in Waynesboro (waynesboropaconcerts.com) and Hagerstown (hagerstowncommunityconcerts.org) through reciprocal concert association agreements. Music genres at partner concerts include classical, Broadway, jazz, country, pop, and folk.

Beatlemania Magic A Tribute to the Beatles @ The Capitol Theatre
Apr 26 @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

BEATLEMANIA MAGIC, a national-touring Tribute Band to The Beatles, recreates the “magic” behind the craze of “Beatlemania,” encapsulating the early Beatles concerts with identical costumes, equipment, and spot-on harmonies, from songs “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to “I’m Down.” By using Vox amps as well as Gretsch, Hofner, and Rickenbacker guitars made famous by The Beatles, their look and musical prowess is uncanny! BEATLEMANIA MAGIC recreates the “Magical Mystery Tour” of SGT Pepper, White Album, Let It Be, and Abbey Road. If you missed the actual band in 1964, you must see BEATLEMANIA MAGIC to fill that void. The show will surely spur a little “magic” in your heart!
Beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and concessions will also be available for purchase the night of this show.
