The Hagerstown Model RR Museum, Inc. (founded 1937) will open the historic Antietam Train Station in Sharpsburg, MD to the public every Sunday in January 2025 from Noon to 4 PM. There are several operating model train layouts, as well as wooden train layouts for kids to play with, along with displays of railroad history. Admission is free (donations are welcome). The building is handicap accessible.
The Tide Your Soles ~ Their Souls Shoe Drive sponsored by Cubes Storage Solutions of Chambersburg runs from now through March 31st. All new and gently worn shoes are greatly appreciated to help reach this year’s 10,000 pair goal. Proceeds will benefit The Tide Literacy Classes offered to villagers in India, while the shoes will be used by a partnering organization to help support micro business owners in developing countries around the world. Join us on January 25th for a Soup Contest Fundraiser!
Community members are invited to sample soups made by the State Line United congregation.
•Soup tasting & voting will take place promptly at 4pm and go until 5pm. Tickets are $10 for 12yrs & older (under 12yrs no charge). Your ticket will be hole-punched once per soup sampled.
•🎟️ Tickets will be sold at the door!
•If you find a soup that leaves you wanting more, you will then be able to purchase that soup at the rate of $4 per pint. But don’t be hesitant! The soup sale will begin promptly at 5pm and end at 5:15pm.
•Done sampling soups early and waiting to purchase? We’ll have a Silent Auction available at 4pm until 5pm. Winners will be announced at 5:15pm and purchases will be squared up 5:15pm to 5:30pm.
**There is handicap parking at the entrance off East Ave near our handicap entrance. The soup tasting & contest will take place in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level. There is an elevator near the front doors (East Ave street side) for access to the lower level. For all others, please use the entrance at the back of the building
(parking lot side) and follow the stairs down & through the 2nd door on the left.
